Situated in the heart of the 11,000 hectare Thornybush Game Reserve, adjoining the Greater Kruger National Park, Shumbalala is a small, boutique game lodge. Catering for a small number of guests of normally only 8, the exclusive lodge is situated under a shady African tree canopy on the banks of the seasonal Monwana River.

Guests are accommodated in four spacious and beautifully appointed luxury suites each with private viewing decks and “picturewindow” bathrooms with in-and-outdoor showers. The Presidential Suite has two en-suite bedrooms, a large lounge and dining area and a private plungepool with a unique retractable deck.

Sumptuous cuisine is served either from the lodge decks, around the fire or in the more formal dining room. Morning and afternoon game drives are undertaken in open 4-wheel drive vehicles with skilled and experienced game rangers.
